Rookada Heritage Villa is a tribute to the classic colonial architecture that echoes through this part of the island. Located in the tropical city of Ambalangoda, the Rookada Heritage Villa is nestled between the bustling city (just 200 meters from the beach) and the scenic Madhu River. The property is fringed by a sprawling wild mangrove forest leading to the river that plays host to an abundance of exotic birdlife. The property began life as the family home of C.W.W. Kannagara, who’s significant achievements in the areas of politics, law and education have led him to being commonly referred to as the Father of Free Education in Sri Lanka.
